Disk IOPS requirement for SharePoint 2010 databases

After going through the SharePoint 2010 planning guide thought it would be good to capture the Disk IOPS requirement for various databases.

First Estimate  Database size = ((D × V) × S) + (10 KB × (L + (V × D)))
Configuration DB
Minimum 100
Note: Recommendation is to allocate 2 GB as a minimum for Config DB, it will consume 40 MB for each 50,000 site collection , recovery model should be set to simple as config DB can grow large but if you're using DB mirroing then recovery model should be full
